DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT:
These three similar prototype elementary schools combine several unique features. This is the first project initiated by the School Board of Broward County, under their Turnkey Acquisition Program. Under this contract, James B. Pirtle Construction Co. Inc. is the Developer, and is responsible for all final design documents, construction and financing during the construction period. The Administration, Kitchen, Dining, Art and Music areas were designed to meet the emergency hurricane shelter requirements. The remaining areas, which consisted primarily of educational classrooms are within a two-story section that partially wrap the hurricane shelter. All exterior finishes are brick.
