Internships / Mentoring
Pirtle Construction Company is dedicated to fostering the future development of students and tradesmen in the construction industry by implementing and applying industry standards for our internships and apprenticeship/mentor training programs. As a premier educational contractor, we consistently strive to implement programs that increase productivity and improve the quality of the construction workforce. Pirtle Construction incorporates internship opportunities to identify, train and develop students in their specialties. To accomplish this, we participate in numerous programs for youth of all ages on an ongoing basis.
For high school students, we participate in ACE Mentor Programs, which are designed to provide real-life introduction to the architecture, engineering and construction industry through monitoring, field trips to construction sites, visits to university engineering and related departments. For students seeking higher education, we provide college internship opportunities that allow the student to experience first hand the operations of a construction company and project site. For students that do not wish to pursue a higher education degree upon high school graduation, Pirtle offers a carpenter apprenticeship program that will allow them to develop into a journeyman carpenter and continue into a superintendent training program.
During an internship, Pirtle encourages participation throughout all aspects of construction to define the strengths of the individual. The areas that each intern thrives in will help in the monitoring and training for the future success of their career. Pirtle offers hands on construction experience to allow classroom knowledge to be utilized in the field. We have the most experience construction professionals who train and lead the intern to perform a job more effectively and to progress in their career. The objective of an internship is for that intern to eventually become a full time employee of Pirtle Construction. Pirtle has been very successful with their internship program and currently have numerous full time employees that started their career as interns at Pirtle.
Pirtle Construction attends multiple career fairs to recruit college students for internships. The Fall and Spring career fairs are the most popular way to recruit students for internships. If you are interested in interning with Pirtle Construction to receive hands-on experience, please contact HR directly at employment@PirtleConstruction.com.
