As Executive Vice President, Mike Geary oversees the strategic business operations of Pirtle Construction Company. Geary has 21 years of construction experience working for the firm in operations as well as construction of numerous projects throughout South Florida. Under his leadership, the company has diversified from a predominantly K-12 and higher education facility builder to a prominent construction manager with a depth of experience including libraries, municipal buildings, federal buildings, healthcare facilities, office buildings, parking garages, police and fire stations, as well as parks and sports complexes. Today, Pirtle has offices located strategically throughout the State of Florida in Broward, Miami-Dade, Orange and Palm Beach Counties. In an effort to geographically diversify its current operations, Pirtle opened an office in Orlando in 2009. Geary is spearheading the firm's business strategy and development to become a prominent player in the Central Florida market. Currently, he is overseeing the Orange County Public Schools Sessions Elementary School and Middle School project in Winter Garden, Florida.
Geary has played an instrumental role in successfully transitioning the company's focus from a traditional competitive bid organization to a firm that primarily completes projects using selection-based Construction Management at Risk and Design Build delivery systems. His construction knowledge, experience and creative problem solving abilities have played an integral role in the success and growth of the company.
Pirtle Construction prides itself on having an executive team that truly understands construction. Geary is a State of Florida Certified General Contractor and brings not only valuable management know-how, but hands-on experience successfully completing construction projects while achieving the utmost in client satisfaction. He understands the challenges of construction, from start to finish, and has overseen the completion of over one billion dollars of construction in Florida, including new construction, additions, renovations, and complex, phased replacement projects.
