James B. Pirtle, Sr., President
In 1968, James B. Pirtle decided that he could build a new, progressive company to serve the needs of South Florida. With his years of experience as a Florida State Licensed General Contractor, he created a company where quality and respect are the keys to client satisfaction: respect for the client's budget, and respect for the client's time.
Pirtle Construction Company has been a successful, highly respected general contractor for over forty years and that success leads back to Jim Pirtle's initial values. He knew that a hands-on approach was needed. Some of the most notable projects of the 400+ that Pirtle Construction has completed in South Florida are the West Broward High School, a $78 million new High School project which created a thoroughly modern school campus, Pine Jog Elementary School and FAU Pine Jog Environmental Education Center (both LEED Gold certified), as well as Pirtle Construction's own corporate office in Davie, a Class A office building that has received LEED Silver certification.
Other projects James Pirtle has been involved in include numerous government and municipal facilities, including large high profile projects like the City of Miami and Miami Dade County Public Schools College of Policing and Forensic Sciences and the South Regional/BCC Library the first LEED Silver certified building in Broward County.
As the company grew, Jim Pirtle built an executive team with real-world construction experience. Three out of five Pirtle executives are State Licensed General Contractors, and three out of five are LEED Accredited Professionals. Even so, Jim Pirtle personally visits many of his company's projects to make sure that everything is meeting the high standards he set for the company years ago, and is directly involved in the day-to-day operations of the entire company.
From the beginning James B. Pirtle has led from experience, and a belief that construction can always be better than it is -- for builders, for contractors, and for clients. He lives by his motto "Committed to Excellence from Concept to Completion" and stands by his promise.
