James B. Pirtle, Sr., President

A native of Donelson, Tennessee, James B. Pirtle has been working in construction since 1947. He migrated to the Miami area in 1956 and started building schools for Miami Dade County Public Schools. In 1968, Pirtle, along with two other associates, began operations as Pirtle, Brewer and Clark Construction Company. In 1971, Pirtle took full ownership and changed the name to James B. Pirtle Construction Company, Inc., now known as Pirtle Construction Company.   With his years of experience as a Florida State Licensed General Contractor, Pirtle created a company where quality and respect are the keys to client satisfaction. Pirtle Construction Company has been a successful, highly respected general contractor for over forty-three years and that success leads back to Jim Pirtle's hands-on, client first approach. Pirtle has built one of the most respected construction companies in Florida, which continues to grow successfully today, by assembling an admiring and dedicated staff . Pirtle humbly affirms that he has earned all of his accomplishments through dedication, loyalty, integrity and hard work.

While a majoriy of Pirtle's projects in the early years were educational projects in Miami, he has strategically diversified the firm into numerous market sectors and geographic locations. Currently, the firm provides construction management and desgin build services for various project types including K-12, higher education, libraries, municipal, federal, healthcare facilities, office buildings, parking garages, police and fire stations, as well as parks and sports complexes. Today, Pirtle has offices located strategically throughout the State in Broward, Miami-Dade, Orange and Palm Beach Counties. 

Since founding the firm in 1968, Pirtle has operated on the principle that "giving back to the community is not only the right thing to do; it's an integral part of how we do business." Pirtle is committed to giving back to the local communities and increasing education standards in Florida.
The firm is heavily involved in many associations throughout Florida including United States Green Building Council, Founding Member of the Palm Beach/Treasure Coast Branch Chapter of the USGBC, Treasure Coast Builders Association, ACE Mentor Program, Associated General Contractors of America, Associated Builders and Contractors, Construction Association of South Florida, Davie Chamber of Commerce, Chamber of the Palm Beaches, St. Lucie Chamber of Commerce, and Broward County Building Trade Committee. Furthermore, Pirtle Construction actively and enthusiastically supports many charitable and educational programs such as United Way, March of Dimes, American Red Cross, American Cancer Society, E.A.S.E. Foundation, Young at Art Children’s Museum, Boys and Girls Club of America, Adopt-A-Class, Palm Beach Matchmakers, Special Olympics, Habitat for Humanity and many others. 

James B. Pirtle is a man of great integrity and from the beginning, he has led from experience with a belief that construction can always be better than it is -- for builders, for subcontractors, and for clients. He lives by his motto "Committed to Excellence from Concept to Completion" and stands by his promise.
